What are your daily habits?

Daily Habits. Let’s talk about that!

Many times have I tried to keep a daily planner, a weekly planner or a monthy planner. And I am referring to the good old planners which come in a form of a notebook with calendars, spaces for writing, etc. I remember my mother always keeping one and being very successful in doing so. That is something I liked and I was ”jealous” for not having one as a child. But does a child need one? No. An adult however…. We could use that.

Whenever I had a planner, I made sure to make it a daily one and write down all the things that needed to be done on the day. Over time, and thanks to my practise on trying to note down things, I discovered my daily habits. Some of them I had since a younger age (waking up for example), while others appeared later on during the daily life….

I will be honest with you, I do not always keep up with my list. Either because of the limited time or the mood. But there are definitely some important daily habits I always keep up with. And I am willing to share them.

  1. The morning routine. Other than waking up in the morning (doesn’t matter which day it is) I have a routine. Before I get any breakfast or even take the dogs out, I like to shower. I do not sit under the water for too long, but a morning shower is always a good waking up technique for me. After that, I either dry my hair and get ready for the day (skin care routine, make up, all that) and then I grab some breakfast. I cannot go through the day without having a bite in the morning.
  2. House organizing. Most of the days during the week are occupied with work. So I am not in the house much. But when I return, I let the dogs out and then I starting gathering the little things that have been left here and there from the previous day/night or that morning. I do like seeing the spaces around the living room and the kitchen tidy and neat. Even if they become untidy again minutes later.
  3. Night time routine. That is all about letting myself breath. Sometimes I hop in for a quick shower to refresh and feel all clean before going to bed and other times I just cleanse my face, apply my night creams and serums, spray a bit of perfume and then jump into bed with a good book or the end of a movie to keep me busy and make me sleepy.
  4. Sunday breakfast in bed. Sundays are fun days and relaxing days. If we don’t have any plans for the day (weekend trip that is), we usually take our breakfast in bed and enjoy a bit of time there while talking, reading and letting the sun in to warm up the bedroom. It’s definitely something the dogs love!
