Another long weekend went by for us here in good old Germany. And of course, being me (now married and in a mood of creating even more memories), I grabbed the opportunity, shoved a suitcase in the car, the husband and the dog and drove all the way down to the middle of Germany. West side that is.

So far, I have explored all these towns down there on the west side of the country and, eventually, I plan of seeing the middle and the east side. But one step at a time.

This weekend we found ourselves in the beautiful city of Heidelberg. The weather was an interesting thing that started with lots of rain in the morning and then the hot sun in the afternoon. We got wet and the dog almost turned into a duck, but we managed through it and at the end, seeing the little spots of the city was enjoyable.

Heidelberg is famous as one of the Univeristy cities of Germany. But to me, not a student anymore, it’s actually so much more. It always looks like a city that emerged from a fairytale. Beautiful, welcoming, with cozy corners and tall building of fascinating architecture. It’s definitely one I recommend, should you visit those areas down there.
