What I enjoy doing in my leisure time.

Hello. Again. I am here! I already posted something small earlier (in case you have not checked that out, you should!) but then, just as I was about to turn this PC off and go grab my book, I came across this writing prompt. I cannot resist! So why am I here now? Well… to talk about leisure time. So here it goes.

What is leisure time?

According to Camrbridge Dictionary, leisure is the time when you are free from work or other duties and can relax. So, basically, and to put it simply, it is the free time you have. The spare time. The time off work.

And during such time, everybody enjoys doing something. Even if it is sleeping. We can count that in the possible activities one can enjoy. But what do I enjoy doing in my leisure time? Maybe you have guessed already, maybe I have mentioned something before, but let’s do a recap.

Reading.

I have read so many books. I love reading books. I choose to read during my leisure time. Reading is not something one can force you to do. You must choose it.

No, I do not read all the time. Some days, I do not read at all simply because there’s so much going on in my mind or my life I do not feel like opening a book and sitting there for some time flipping through pages. That’s when other activities come in. However, I try to read even a little bit every day on good days.

However, I have no shelf-control. I love books and I tend to buy books with no control whatsoever. Eventually, I end up reading them, but you get the point.

Gaming

Oh yes.. I was introduced in the world of gaming some years ago through an ex- boyfriend. And I thank him for that. Even though, back in the day, I was a big fan of spending my leisure time gaming, this has become less and less these days.

Once in a while, I choose to sit and go through a game with friends or even alone. I am now well acquainted with PC games, Xbox games, PS4 games and even Nintendo! So if you have a profile in one of these platforms, feel free to let me know! Let’s connect!

Netflix & Chill.

Well, it has to be on the list! It’s in your list too! Probably…

I was so addicted to Netflix. But not anymore, thank goodness. I love watching series and movies (almost of all genres). Even documentaries as they teach you something about a culture or science. However, I do not allow Netflix to affect my routine or my life. And I do not turn it on every day. Which is an achievement, if you ask me.

Writing

I love writing. If you are here, then clearly you love to write and share stuff or you love reading stuff that others have shared. But writing can be complicated and sometimes tiring. Sometimes, it is something that comes out on paper easily, and other times, the topic I want to write about requires some research or time to be completed.

I do not write every day, even though I try to, but life has other plans and work is already hectic enough. Writing, on a proper notebook with lines and a pen, lead me down the path of blogging. One day, I decided that what I wrote was worthy enough to be shared with others and eventually, I created my first Tumblr account. When that place stopped being such a bit hit, I discovered WordPress and well, here we are now!

Traveling.

I was introduced to the beauty of traveling at an early age. Thanks to my father being a pilot, the possibility of ending up in a different city of Greece or even a different country was always there. My first trip abroad happened in 2003 when we flew over to Rome for a week of fun activities, museum visits and a portrait making (mine unfortunately). And that trip I remember to this day as if it was yesterday! I should go back…

After that, I traveled with my parents often. Eventually we even moved out of Greece and re-located to Germany. I even flew to the USA (something none of my friends have done so far). And the past year, I traveled around so many times…

Traveling is not something I want to stop doing, even when I have more responsibilities as a soon-to-be-married woman. Sure, I will focus on my personal happiness and my family, I want to have children of my own too, but I want to teach my children the beauty of exploring new places, learning about new cultures and even visiting these cultures.
