What a wonderful writing prompt! The perfect writing prompt if you want to get hungry at any point during the day!
The easy answer to that is: Soutzoukakia. An easier way to describe that, if you are not able to pronounce the word is: Greek baked meatballs in tomato sauce.
Soutzoukakia is flavored meatballs with a plethora of aromatics, fresh parsley and a special blend of spices, especially ground cumin which makes the dish a little spicier. Even cinnamon is added to it! In Turkey, this specific dish is known as izmir köfte.
To be honest, this delicious meatballs originated in Turkey and around the 20th century, they made their way to Greece. Comparing to other meals, soutzoukakia is extremely easy to make if you have ground beed, onions, garlic, fresh herbs and spices. The meatballs are baked in the tomato sauce or fried first before the sauce and you can server it with rice or pasta. Personally, I love curry potatoes as a side add-on for my meal!
